sonic the hedgehog speed me up

Sonic the Hedgehog film theme ‘Speed Me Up’ released by Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Yachty and Sueco the Child

In news that we weren’t expecting to write today, Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Yachty and Sueco the Child have teamed up for a song on the Sonic the Hedgehog film soundtrack.

‘Speed Me Up’ is a brand new track released ahead of the Sonic movie’s theater debut on February 14, 2020, with its music video seeing the four rappers being transported through the blue blur’s classic Sega Genesis games.

The video also includes some footage taken from the upcoming movie, including scenes featuring Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik and Sonic bouncing between Earth and wherever-the-hell-he-comes-from.

Sonic the Hedgehog is set to sprint into theaters on Valentine’s Day, after the film was pushed back from its initial 2019 release date. This last-minute change was made as a result of the negative feedback Sonic’s initial design received, with animators working to bring the character more in-line with his appearance in the video game series.

You can watch ‘Speed Me Up’ below, and the new track is also available to stream via Spotify, Apple Music, and more here.
