Baby Sonic debuts in new Sonic the Hedgehog trailer

Baby Sonic has made his debut in a new Sonic the Hedgehog trailer, with the upcoming movie set to show the blue blur as an infant. The new Japanese trailer for the film focuses on Sonic as a child, zipping through the Green Hill Zone as a younger version of himself.

Baby Sonic is suitably adorable, with many suggesting that he’s the next Baby Yoda. The Mandalorian‘s child version of Jedi Master Yoda’s mysterious species has been 2019’s breakout TV star, with Baby Sonic now likely set to capture the internet’s heart in 2020.

The new trailer also debuted alongside a new poster, depicting Baby Sonic holding a sunflower:

As many others have pointed out on Twitter, the presence of a Baby Sonic in the new trailer means that at some point, there was an infant version of Sonic’s terrifying original design. After much criticism leveled at Sonic the Hedgehog‘s original appearance, the film’s creators delayed production in order to create a new version of the character more in line with his look in the game series.
