The Division 2 adds Hardcore permadeath mode in new update

I wouldn’t expect The Division 2 to be a game that gets a Hardcore Mode, but the upcoming Situation: Snowball update is adding one. When the beta Hardcore Mode goes live in The Division 2 update 6.1, players can further challenge themselves by adding permadeath.

In The Division 2 Hardcore Mode beta, if you die, that’s it. There’s no respawns or reloads. This will add a ton of difficulty to an already challenging campaign. I personally couldn’t fathom the desire to take on the game while having to worry about permadeath, but it will be there starting on December 10 for those that want to try.

The Division 2 update 6.1 will also bring a dark winter theme to the game with a new in-game event. There’ll also be new event apparel and some enemies will don a Santa Hat while trying to kill you for that extra festive flair. If you log in between December 10 and January 7, you can get your own Santa Hat as well.

You can look forward to these additions and more when The Division 2 Title Update 6.1 drops on December 10 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
