The Wonderful 101 Originally Featured A Bunch Of “All-Star” Nintendo Characters

The Wonderful 101 was originally supposed to feature an "all-star" cast of Nintendo characters, according to Platinum Games' Hideki Kamiya.

Speaking to VideoGamer, Kamiya explained:

Originally I got an order from the president of Platinum Games, Tatsuya Minami, asking me to create a game idea that had an all-star cast of Nintendo characters plus characters from other games and that’s how the project started. I thought how I could satisfy everyone and make everyone happy and I came up with the idea of why not having everyone displayed in the game at the same time. That’s where the idea was born.

Do you think the game would have been more appealing to the Nintendo faithful if it featured characters like Mario and Link, or are you happy with the direction Platinum ended up taking with The Wonderful 101? Let us know in the comments below.
