PlayStation Vita Could Get Sizable Price Drop

Spotted by a keen-eyed NeoGAF user in a photo uploaded to PlayStation Asia's Flickr account, is a promotional advertisement for a PlayStation Vita Wi-fi bundle with ModNation Racers and accessories for HKD $1280—a remarkable 45% off the regular price. This translates to roughly $165 USD, so nearly $100 off the regular MSRP of the PlayStation Vita here in the States.

Now, I don't know what's more shocking: the price drop, or the fact that this NeoGAF user looked past these two cute Asian women to even notice the promo below.

Price drops in other regions don't necessarily translate to price drops over here, as we've seen in the past. But with gamescom right around the corner, and the Vita struggling at retail, a drop in price is almost expected at this point.

It's also worth noting that this very well could be a gamescom-related announcement, since the photo this was seen in is for the Hong Kong Computer & Communications Festival 2013, which runs from August 23-26—just days after Sony's press conference at gamescom.
