Numskull Games have announced the newest piece of digital entertainment that it will be releasing later this year. SuperEpic is a platformer game that has you fighting against an evil corporation and their “cruel microtransactions,” and it will be coming to PC and consoles before the year is over. That’s not all—this new game also uses your phone to unlock cool secrets!
SuperEpic was announced on publisher Numskull Games’ Twitter. This is going to be a fast-placed platformer that will have you riding around the world on a llama (for some reason I have yet to understand) and bonking bad guys on the head with weird weapons like golf clubs and polo mallets. You’ll be fighting the evil Regnantcorp who uses comically-evil microtransactions to get every penny that they can.

You can enjoy a single-player story experience available along with some sort of roguelike game mode that you can also play. Whichever of the two you choose, you’ll play non-linear levels in your quest to beat the bacon out of some pretty bad piggies. That’s not the only weird thing this game does—it also makes use of your phone in a pretty interesting second-screen experience.
Whether you’re playing on PC or on consoles, you’ll encounter QR codes during your runs through the game world. Scan the QR code with your phone and you’ll be taken to a minigame on your mobile device. Beating the minigame will provide information (like the passcode for a door) that you can then input into the game to progress.
You’ll be able to play Undercoders and Numskull Games’ SuperEpic when it launches for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch sometime in December 2019. No price has been announced. In the meantime, you can check out the SuperEpic reveal trailer in the tweet below.
