Apparently, Kojima Productions wasn’t satisfied with selling weird products like adhesive tape, as they’re now branching out into collectible anime girl figurines. The female Ludens figurine release date has been narrowed down to February, 2020. This is on top of the other non-anime girl figurines and collectibles that the company has approved for sale.
A collectible figurine of the company’s “Ludens” mascot has been available for a little while now, showcasing the strange space marine/astronaut sort of dude in excellent detail. Like many figures of this type, it features the ability to pose and hold objects. A transparent stand is included to support it. That alone apparently wasn’t enough of a cool factor, so the company is now coming out with a cross-gendered anime girl version of their mascot.
ALSO: Death Stranding merchandise is somehow weirder than you’d expect
As Dengeki reports, the figure is basically the KojiPro mascot but as an anime girl. It comes equipped with the company’s iconic “spear flag” and also possesses the ability to be equipped with some other accessories made by the same manufacturer. Three separate faces are included: a normal face, an angry face, and a smile. Of course, a skull mask is also a part of this package so it looks just like the mascot. Various other accessories will come with this figurine so that you can put it in exactly the sort of pose you’d like to.
While there’s plenty to add, there’s also plenty that you can take away. Most of the EVA (extravehicular activity) suit can be removed to reveal a bodysuit underneath.
The Kojima Productions anime girl figurine will cost ¥6,800 (≈$63.00) before taxes. There’s no word on whether or not it will be coming to the West. If it doesn’t, I’m sure someone will set up a way to import it.
