[Update] Capcom Announces 5 New Fighters And Major Update, Ultra Street Fighter IV

[Update] The new update will rebrand SFIV as Ultra Street Fighter IV. Here's the trailer!

And here's a splashy shot of the box:

Thanks to tipster rafcor, who adds that new modes have also been promised, but details remain hidden, like the 5th additional fighter. My guess? Another Capcom character, possibly from Darkstalkers? My nightmare would be a first-party character like Cole MacGrath and some Xbox equivalent. Please no.

[Original] Capcom's panel at EVO 2013 revealed that brand new content will come to Street Fighter IV in the form of a rebalance and 5 brand new challengers for players to master and kick ass with.

The publisher responsible for this generation's fighting genre revival says they'll bring Poison, Hugo, Rolento, and Elena to Street Fighter IV along with one character that's never appeared in a Street Fighter game before. The update remains without an official name, but does come packed with 6 new stages and a rebalance to make for a welcome field for the new fighters.

Whether you're still playing with your original Street Fighter IV disc or not, the new update will come to retail as a $39.99 disc compiling the entirety of SFIV's content so far, or via DLC at the lowered price of $14.99. The retail disc comes with all past DLC costumes and preordering will net you some bonus costumes designed by Udon.

The trailer and name should be revealed at Evo before the SFIV finals, but we'll update when we have it. Don't forget to check out the final matches of EVO 2013 here.
