Kerbal Space Program 2

Kerbal Space Program 2 revealed at Gamescom 2019

Kerbal Space Program 2 was revealed today during the Opening Night Live presentation hosted by Geoff Keighley for Gamescom 2019. This is the sequel to the popular space flight simulation game from developers Squad and Private Division. It is an entirely new game redesigned from scratch to satisfy the newest fans of space exploration and mischief. It keeps the solid foundation that turned the first title into such a success among silly space program enthusiasts but it takes the original concept even further by introducing a host of new tech and features. The game will come out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2020.

Colonies are one of the new features in Kerbal Space Program 2. These colonies bring their own set of physics challenges, while requiring specific resources to build structures, space stations and more. Ultimately, you will be able to build vehicles as well, encouraging space exploration.

New players to the series will be greeted with new tutorials and an improved UI to teach them the basics. Revamped assembly and flight instructions will make sure that everyone will be able to tackle the new challenges and maximize their creativity.

Interstellar travel is another one of the new features, with Kerbal Space Program 2’s technologies paving the way to a host of new planets and challenges: Ovin is a ringed super-Earth with unremitting gravity, while Rask and Rusk is cryptically described as a “binary pair locked in a dance of death.”

Kerbal Space Program was known for its modding capabilities and the sequel will expand on it, allowing for some crazy contraptions created by players. However, the highlight is the addition of a much-requested multiplayer mode, with players being able to face the challenges of space exploration as a team.
