Shenmue 3 publisher Deep Silver and developer Ys Net — led by legendary game designer, producer, programmer, and engineer, Yu Suzuki — have unveiled a range of Shenmue 3 pre-order bonuses for those looking to secure a copy of the long-awaited game on launch day. Consumers in the United States, Canada, and Latin America purchasing at participating retailers can expect to be granted four in-game DLC items, while some stores will also offer exclusive DLC or physical items at no added cost.
The shared pre-order bonuses take the form of three bottles of “Snake Power,” a drink used to replenish energy in battle; the “Blazing Kick” Advanced Training Scroll, used to unlock said ability for use in combat; 25 Toy Capsule tickets to exchange in-game for the series’ famous gacha-style toys; and 5,000 Playing Tokens to utilize in the game’s designated gambling area. It’s all relatively minor stuff, but it is something extra for those already planning to pick up a copy of the game when it launches on November 19.

Shenmue 3‘s retailer-exclusive items might prove more enticing, however. Opting for Amazon will net you the Kenpogi Training Wear DLC, which is an outfit based on traditional Chinese Kung Fu garb. Best Buy customers will get a Limited Edition Steelbook case to house the game, featuring artwork of Shenmue protagonist Ryo and his companion Shenhua. Lastly, those who pre-order from GameStop in the United States or EB Games in Canada will take home a physical Dragon/Phoenix Mirror Medallion, inspired by the in-game item and featuring motifs of a dragon on the front and a phoenix on the back.
Whichever retailer you go with, you’ll get your copy of Shenmue 3 when it launches November 19 on PS4, and, controversially, as a timed Epic Games Store exclusive on PC.
