Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo playable at gamescom 2019

Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo joins Marvel’s Avengers as playable games for Gamescom 2019

Square Enix has shared its games line-up for Gamescom 2019, which will run from August 20 to August 24, including the first opportunity to go hands-on with the acclaimed Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo in Europe. After taking home a number of “Best in Show” awards at E3, European fans of Cloud and company will no doubt be clamoring to make their way to Cologne, Germany. Marvel’s Avengers will also have a playable demo for the first time, after strictly hands-off showings at this year’s E3 left both the press and public uncertain.

It hasn’t been confirmed precisely what portion of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be playable, but it’s reasonable to assume that it’ll be the same demo as was showcased at E3. Both on-stage at the Square Enix Press Conference and on the show floor, the game’s appearance earlier this summer in Los Angeles featured a lengthy boss battle with a re-imagined Scorpion Sentinel, now taking place with a real-time combat system.

ALSO: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Xbox One release date could be the same as PS4

There’ll be 72 Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo stations available to attendees, who’ll get to play the game on PS4 well in advance of its March 3, 2020 release. Currently, PS4 is the only platform the game is confirmed for, but there have been rumors that it could launch simultaneously on Xbox One.

As well as reviving a fan-favorite video game in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Square Enix is bringing fan-favorite superheroes The Avengers to gamers around the world on May 15, 2020. Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor might look different to their Marvel Cinematic Universe counterparts, but they’ll all be playable for the first time at the show as players experience the “preliminary incident” of Marvel’s Avengers. This confirms that the demo will be the same as the one demonstrated by developers back at E3, and the very first thing we’ll all get to play after picking the game up on PS4, Xbox One, or PC. Additionally, it’ll also be available for streaming via Google Stadia.
