The Xbox Game Pass August 2019 Games have been announced! This particular batch of upcoming games features four titles for the Xbox One and two titles for the PC. This month’s batch of games includes four titles for the Xbox One and two games for PC players. Additionally, some new quests are arriving that will give you more opportunities to earn Microsoft Rewards points.
Starting things off is Ashes Cricket, a video game that’s all about one of the biggest sporting events in the world that Americans like myself are wholly incapable of ever understanding. Thankfully, you’ll also be able to get Downwell on PC, a much simpler platformer title that doesn’t involve wickets (whatever those are) and has you falling down a well in an intriguing platformer style. Console gamers will also get Pandemic for the Xbox One in the Xbox Game Pass August 2019 Games, a title where they have to combat the spread of a deadly virus as part of an elite team of scientists and engineers.

That’s not all that’s coming in August, though! The Jackbox Party Pack 2 brings a ton of value in August’s offerings! This collection of party games includes Fibbage, Earwax, Bidiots, Quiplash XL, and Bomb Corp. Kill some heretics and xenos for the Emperor in Space Hulk Tactics on the PC, a pretty faithful adaptation of the original board game. Finally, Slay the Spire has you trying to ascend the titular spire using roguelite and deck-building mechanics.
Second Batch of Xbox Game Pass August 2019 Games
Those aren’t the only Xbox Game Pass August 2019 Games arriving! In the earliest moments of Gamescom, Microsoft announced that they are going to be bringing even more titles to their subscription service for the month of August 2019. The first batch announced earlier in the month only gave you games for either PC or Xbox One, but this second round of announcements includes titles for both!
Starting things off is Age of Empires: Definitive Edition for the PC! This classic real-time strategy lets you command ancient armies in epic campaigns and intense multiplayer matches! If you’re more of the sci-fi type, you can instead go for Stellaris and make your empire a little bigger than just a tiny corner of Earth. RTS not your thing? Worry not; Devil May Cry 5 will also be part of the second batch of Xbox Game Pass August 2019 Games.
Ape Out is a stylish “smash ’em up” that lets you smash your captors to bits to the tune of exciting jazz music. Slow things down a notch with Kingdom Come: Deliverance on both the PC and Xbox One, taking on the role of a blacksmith’s son caught in a medieval conflict in old Bohemia featuring combat that’s about more than just pressing a button and swinging your sword for 10 points of damage.
If you’re out for more of a narrative experience, Bards Tale IV: Director’s Cut gives you the chance to play through one of the greatest role-playing game franchises ever created! Featuring tactically-rich combat, you’ll creatively solve problems of all sorts — whether they’re battles, puzzles, or something else entirely.
The last of the second batch of Xbox Game Pass August 2019 Games is Blair Witch, a brand new survival horror game that takes the best of the Blair Witch mythology and puts you right in the middle of it. Did you really see something in the woods, or are you just losing your mind? Who knows! All we can say for sure is that this is going to be spooky as heck.
