Xbox September Update Adds Party Chat Noise Suppression to Xbox One and PC

The Xbox September Update has arrived today bringing several improvements to Xbox series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, including the introduction of party chat noise suppression on all platforms. Other features include a revamp of the game library, more storage location options, and the ability to customize the color of the Xbox button on the Elite Wireless Controller Series 2.

Party chat noise suppression won’t block singing

Xbox September Update

Party chat noise suppression launched on Xbox Series X|S consoles in August but has now been rolled out to Xbox One and PC too. The aim is to cut out unwanted background noises like gamepad clicks and breathing. This does not include singing, unfortunately. Those who still want to listen to other people’s music can choose to turn noise suppression off in the options.

The My games and apps library has also been redesigned. The aim of this is to show all of the games available to play and install through ownership or subscriptions like Games With Gold and Game Pass. Players can filter by any of those categories and groups will still be available for those who don’t want to see every game at once.

Another new option is to choose different default installation locations for games and apps on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles. For example, Xbox Series X|S players can choose the install locations for Xbox Series X|S games, backwards compatible games, and apps. Alternatively, players can let the console decide the best place for them.

Finally on console, the color of the Xbox button on Xbox Elite Series 2 controller can now be customized with over 16 million hues of light. Meanwhile on PC, the Xbox Game Bar has more sharing options for any capture, and app users are not left out as they get a new “Start party” button. All of these changes are available with today’s Xbox September update.

In other news, the Logitech G Cloud Gaming Handheld has been unveiled with a release window and price. Elsewhere, a Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond crossover has been confirmed for FIFA 23.
