Disintegration has been revealed as the next game from the co-creator of Halo, and it will be making its debut at Gamescom this year. V1 Interactive President and Game Director (and former Creative Art Director at Bungie) Marcus Lehto is teaming up with Private Division to create a brand new IP and it’s sure to be exciting.
“We aren’t messing around with the new Gamescom Opening Night Live show live everywhere on August 19,” read a tweet from Geoff Keighley, founder of The Game Awards. “Here’s a first tease: During the show we will reveal DISINTEGRATION the new game from the co-creator of the Halo franchise and Private Division[.]”

Marcus Lehto worked at Bungie from 1997–2012, eventually leaving the company that created Halo to work as an independent game developer. Disintegration is his newest baby and it’s sure to leverage all of his experience in the gaming industry in this upcoming game.
A press release from Private Division states that Disintegration will be a first-person shooter with a science fiction theme. So far, all we have is the name and an Announce Teaser that shows us what appears to be some kind of spaceship. Some of the key people behind this upcoming game have a serious amount of experience in first-person shooters, so it’s sure to be an interesting experience when we can finally get our hands on it.
“We’re lucky enough to work with someone like Marcus, a gaming icon whose creativity has influenced an entire industry,” said Executive Vice President and Head of Private Division Michael Worosz. “We’ve been with Marcus and the V1 Interactive team since the studio’s inception and have seen the organization grow its talent base throughout our partnership.”
