Dragon Ball Z Kakarot Saiyan Saga screen shots show some iconic scenes from the show

Without a doubt, Dragon Ball Z has had some memorable and iconic moments since it first aired years ago. There are so many, but some of the most unforgettable involve the numerous deaths of series’ protagonist Goku. These new Dragon Ball Z Kakarot Saiyan Saga screen shots show one such death involving Piccolo and Raditz.

The screenshots shown, which were shared by Bandai Namco, mainly focus on Goku’s first death when he fought Raditz alongside Piccolo. There are also shots of Vegeta and Nappa, Saiyans who come to Earth after their colleague Raditz died at the hands of Piccolo and Goku. You can check out all the screenshots below:

To go more in-depth, these screenshots are the in-game interpretations of scenes from Dragon Ball Z’s first saga, the Saiyan Saga. Raditz comes to Earth to find his brother Kakarot, a Saiyan who was sent to the planet years ago to destroy it. It is revealed that Kakarot is actually Goku. However, since he lost his memory as a child, Goku didn’t end up destroying Earth. In fact, he got married to his wife Chi Chi and had a son, named Gohan.

Goku refuses to join Raditz which turns into a pretty intense battle. Raditz is much stronger than anything Goku has ever faced. Luckily, Piccolo was there to give him a helping hand, even though the Namekian was looking to fight Goku himself. The two team up to fight Raditz and are successful, but at a cost. Goku essentially sacrifices himself by holding Raditz in place while Piccolo shot his Special Beam Cannon right through both of them, rendering them both dead.

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is a single-player RPG where players will play through more of these iconic scenarios. Initially revealed at E3 2019, the game is expected to launch for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2020.
