Shinobi Returns on Nintendo 3DS

Move aside, Naruto! Emerging from a puff of smoke, Shinobi will finally break its vow of silence. Sega has announced the comeback of the side-scrolling series for Nintendo 3DS in September 2011. Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing of SEGA West, is just as excited as we are:

For years the fans have been asking for a new Shinobi. With Shinobi on Nintendo 3DS we are able to answer their prayers and bring this legendary series to the next level.

Not only will this Shinobi include StreetPass, 3D visuals, the ability to watch recorded replays (it's not a ninja game unless it's hard), it will also follow the story of not Joe Musashi, but his father, Jiro Musashi as the leader of the Oboro clan. The game will feature a new combo system, acrobatic attacks, and Jiro's ninja magic for some lethal doses of killing.
