The Nintendo Switch version of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night seems to have launched with a number of issues. In response to this, the team behind the game is now prioritizing pushing out fixes for this version.
Players playing the Switch version of Ritual of the Night may have experienced one of the many issues affecting it. These range from the game’s frame rate stuttering to the game actually crashing after a couple of hours of play.
In response to this, 505 Games Senior Community Manager Jack Ryan made a post on Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night‘s Kickstarter page addressing the issues with the Nintendo Switch version. Here, he stated that fixing this version is now the team’s current priority.
“To address the concerns brought up by the community we are immediately shifting resources to improve performance and stability for the Switch,” Ryan said. “You can expect a number of small updates that will improve different areas of the game rather than waiting longer for one big update. We will have more details as we dive into the work.”
As the message states, in order to get the fixes out as quickly as possible, 505 Games will be releasing small patches that will address specific issues. Players won’t have to wait for all the issues to get fixed for a patch to arrive.
Any Nintendo Switch port of a game is bound to suffer performance issues in comparison to other platforms. However, Ritual of the Night‘s issues on Switch seem to go beyond just the system’s less powerful hardware.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night‘s Switch version has already received some fixes as part of the version day one patch that added new modes such as Boss Rush. However, Ryan admits that the fixes in the patch weren’t enough, stating that “It did not accomplish as much as we had hoped and we need to do more.” Here’s hoping that these problems get fixed soon.
