Is Nintendo Preparing A Wii U Earthbound Collection For Reveal At E3?

Nintendo fans everywhere make it a point to clamor loudly for more Earthbound no matter which corner of the world you look, but has an Amazon UK listing leaked a possible Special Edition or collection for the beloved role-playing series ahead of its debut at E3 2013?

The listing puts Earthbound on Wii U with no date and a £44.99 price tag. That's quite a bit more expensive that the Virtual Console release we've been told about, so this could be some erroneous listing, but could Nintendo have a much bigger Earthbound surprise in store for next month's monster tradeshow?

I admit that this might be wild speculation on my part, but I don't think there's a Nintendo fan alive who could deny the appeal of all three Mother (as the series is known in Japan) games in one package for the stumbling Wii U. Is it possible that Nintendo could drop the bomb-shell during their pre-E3 Nintendo Direct and unveal a limited-edition once-in-a-lifetime collector's edition bringing all three Mother game's to life on your Wii U GamePad?

Have you noticed how every paragraph so far ends with a question mark? That's because we can't be sure. Even with the offered-up fan translation of Mother 3, a collection for western markets would be a huge task. Details on the product listing are incredibly scarce, so we'll keep you updated leading up to and throughout E3 2013, where GameRevolution will be reporting live.
