Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMIND DLC release date revealed

Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMIND DLC release date (or, rather, a more specific release window) has been announced during the Kingdom Hearts World of Tres concert in Los Angeles. The trailer, which was introduced on-stage by series director Tetsuya Nomura, also includes a glimpse at the new story content, as well as two new Kingdom Hearts 3 playable characters: Roxas and Aqua.

So, first, the big stuff: the Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMIND DLC release date is “This Winter,” which invariably hints at an early December 2019 release. No pricing details have yet been shown, though it does seem like a considerable chunk of DLC for players to sink their teeth into.

We’re also getting a chance to play as Roxas for the first time since the pottering prologue of Kingdom Hearts 2, plus fan-favorite Aqua will also be playable.

Previously, the Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMIND DLC was revealed to have “new bosses” and even more Keyblades for Sora (and, now, presumably Roxas and Aqua) to get to grips with. No word has yet been given on a Final Mix-esque bundle including both the core experience and the Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMIND DLC, however, so those holding out for that may wish to think again.

The trailer, meanwhile, which you can see below, (and could possibly make a showing at the E3 2019 Square Enix conference), but features some very interesting story beats for those well-versed in Kingdom Hearts 3 lore. In it, Luxord says he is “playing dumb” about Xigbar, and even the Master of Masters, who has a heavy presence in the original game’s Secret Ending, doesn’t know Luxord’s true identity. Elsewhere, the Master of Masters meets up with Young Xehanort in what could be a scene that bridges the gap between Kingdom Hearts 3 and any future sequel.

So, with the Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMIND DLC release date being cleared for landing in around six months, it’s certain that Tetsuya Nomura’s 2019 is about as busy as anyone’s in the world right now.
