Cyberpunk 2077 release date

E3 2019 | Cyberpunk 2077 release date and new gameplay trailer revealed

A Cyberpunk 2077 release date was announced at E3 2019 following a new gameplay trailer. As expected, the game won’t come out in 2019, but you won’t have too much longer to wait. CD Projekt Red seems to be working on the finishing touches, and we’ll see the game sooner rather than later.

Cyberpunk 2077 was first announced in 2012, and almost a whole console generation has come and gone since we got the first teaser trailer for the game. After the first reveal, CD Projekt Red went dark on Cyberpunk 2077 for almost six years. It wasn’t until mid-2018 that we got our first real look at the game at E3. We got even more later in the year during a Twitch stream showing 48 minutes of gameplay.

With how much fans adore The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077 has high expectations to live up to. The gameplay we’ve seen so far has been compelling, and it looks like BioWare fans might find the romance here that was lacking in Mass Effect Andromeda. However, you never really know how good a game is until you get behind the controls and, unfortunately, that wasn’t an option at E3.

We won’t have too much longer to wait before we get transported into a futuristic dystopia. It won’t be this year, but Cyberpunk 2077 comes out April 16, 2020 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The trailer accompanying the release date reveal showcased new characters, which included a man played by Keanu Reeves. Reeves then appeared on the stage of the Xbox E3 2019 conference to confirm that he is indeed a part of the game.

The release date trailer featured a montage of gameplay clips, which showcased new weapons and abilities, both in and out of combat. These will all be available for players to experience on April 16, 2020. That is less than a year away!
