Jimmy Fallon is no stranger to having video game related content on The Tonight Show. He’s had Reggie Fils-Aime and Shigeru Miyamoto stop by in the past, and has also profiled other games. But now it appears that Captain Marvel herself, Brie Larson, has taken the show’s video game crown.
The star appeared on Fallon’s talk show last night to hype the opening of Avengers: Endgame. They discussed a number of things revolving around the movie. But then Fallon introduced an impromptu session of the VR music/rhythm game Beat Saber. And it’s here that Larson showed just what a, ahem, marvel she is.
In the clip, which you can watch below, we get to see Fallon goes first. He does okay, but only gets a score of around just under 14,000. Then Larson steps up, and, well, it’s definitely worth watching. Not only does she make short work of her competition, but she shows that she’s quite the master of the game.
That said, the clip is cut somewhat short near the end, as Larson’s score suddenly jumps from 12,000 to 34,000. More than likely, this was due to time constraints with the show itself. But hopefully we’ll see a clip down the road where Larson completely dominates. Or, hey, she can always take part in some live streams after Endgame opens. (We’ll happily challenge her to a high-scoring contest.)
This should not only give Endgame some creative exposure, but Beat Saber as well. The indie darling has been a huge hit on the VR front lately. And it recently made its arcade debut as well, enabling casual players to get in on the block-cutting action. Most locations should have it now.
Enjoy the pure dominance of Larson below before you go see Endgame, which opens in theaters nationwide tonight. Yes, at long last.
