Arcade1up Mortal Kombat 2

Arcade1up releasing Final Fight and Mortal Kombat arcade games next month

As if we didn’t have enough Mortal Kombat news to go around this week, Arcade1up has joined the fray with some new Mortal Kombat information of its own — and these games should make fans of fisticuffs very happy. The company has announced that the latest additions to its home-ready arcade game lineup are on their way to stores. These include a three-pack of Mortal Kombat arcade hits and another Capcom-themed cabinet which features Final Fight.

Initially announced earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the games are starting to make their way to Walmart locations, where they’ll be sold exclusively. They should cost around $299 apiece, as the other models sell for.

“At Arcade1up we are so lucky to have the most passionate fans and active community. For this reason, we wanted to be sure to balance the anticipation and timing of these most sought after titles. We now know that the product has landed in North America and is on its way to stores,” said Harold Chizick, chief marketing officer for Tastemakers LLC.

You can get a glimpse of the cabinets in the pictures above and below. Mortal Kombat includes three of the more popular games in the arcade franchise. These include Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat 2. For good measure, it also has a loyal arcade-style set-up. This is complete with authentic buttons and joystick to execute all the flying kicks and fatalities you can muster.

As for the Capcom machine, Final Fight is front and center, with traditional controls and cabinet art. But it also includes three other favorites from the publisher. The side-scrolling action classic Ghosts ‘n Goblins, the top-down shooter 1944: The Loop Master, and the hack and slash adventure Strider are also available.

More information about the games can be found on the official Arcade1up page.
