2K Games Takes Down XCOM Shooter Website, Possibly Being Rebranded

Remember that XCOM shooter 2K Games showed off quite awhile ago? Well, it looks like the company won't be releasing it under the XCOM banner, as the game's website and all videos on the publisher's YouTube channel have been taken down.

Those hoping that we'll still get the game in some shape or form will be pleased to know that there's a good chance it will see the light of day, just under a new name. Late last month, Superannuation noted that the sci-fi shooter could be getting rebranded.

The outlet discovered domain registrations for thebureau-game.com, thebureau-game.net, whathappenedin62.com, and whathappenedin62.net. Interestingly enough, the game in said to take place in 1962. Coincidence? I think not.

Are you still excited for 2K's shooter, or did you get enough of the alien-infested universe from Firaxis' strategy game? Sound off in the comments below.
