Yoshi’s Crafted World sales have led the the dino’s new game to the top of the UK physical retail charts. Yoshi’s Crafted World was up against tough competition in The Division 2. The Division 2 came in second place and only trailed Yoshi by a meagre 63 units. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was at number one last week but fell (twice) to third in the rankings.
Yoshi’s Crafted World takes the top spot of a chart of diverse games from a range of publishers. Industry giants Capcom, Ubisoft, and EA all have games in the top 10. The Nintendo title is the eighth new game to reach top spot in 2019. The decreasing sales which allowed Yoshi’s Crafted World sales to make it to the top come from The Division 2 and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The Division 2 dropped 51 percent from last week, while Sekiro lost 65 percent of its sales from the week prior.
Aside from the top three, the 30 best-selling physical games in the UK welcomes several new titles. Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 3: Remastered is the only other new entry into the top 10, aside from Yoshi. The remaster enters in ninth. While further down the chart, THQ Nordic’s Generation Zero is a new entry at #19. The troubled development of The Walking Dead: The Final Season doesn’t stop Skybound’s closing effort from reaching 23rd.
Away from the UK charts, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice matched its UK performance last week in the EMEAA charts. It remains to be seen if the From Software’s shinobi title will be able to maintain its position this week or if its fate will be similar to its UK slump.
