The Elder Scrolls Blades early access is upon us

Invite-only Elder Scrolls Blades early access out on Android and iOS

Bethesda Game Studios has released The Elder Scrolls Blades into early access on Android and iOS. It is currently an invite-only early access period and the range of supported devices is modest at best. The Elder Scrolls Blades early access had been delayed into early 2019 last year.

The early access Elder Scrolls Blades period was announced as part of Bethesda’s 25th anniversary celebration of The Elder Scrolls series. Players are being invited to try Blades in waves, so keep an eye on your inbox if you’ve applied to be in the game’s early access period. The game is a mobile take on The Elder Scrolls and is being tailored specifically for mobile devices. Blades early access runs across both Android and iOS, and will likely be open through the game’s official release. Any progress and purchases during the Blades early access period will carry over to the main game.

The Elder Scrolls Blades early access currently supports six languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Russian. The game was officially pushed out of 2018 in November of last year. It was revealed at E3 2018 and had been expected to release sometime during the fall of 2018. Regardless, it will be free upon launch.

The Elder Scrolls Blades early access does not include the Arena PvP mode, which is now slated for post-launch. If you’d like to sign up to be considered for the early access, you can still do so here. The full list of currently supported devices can be found on the game’s FAQ page.

While not quite a full-fat Elder Scrolls RPG, Blades boasts an impressive presentation and breadth of content. It is a first-person dungeon-crawler that has players in the role of a member of The Blades. Players go on quests, help rebuild their hometown, and uncover ancient mysteries. An endless dungeon known as the Abyss is also available to explore and delve into. The full release should come later this year.
