Latest Thief Trailer Comes Out Of The Shadows

Eidos Montreal and Square Enix sent over this announcement trailer for their upcoming reboot of the Thief franchise, simply titled Thief. While the release says that the game is being developed for the PC, PlayStation 4, and "other next-generation consoles," we know what other next-gen consoles they're talking about, and it's not the Ouya.

Like the last game developed by Eidos Montreal, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Thief will allow players to approach challenges and objectives however they'd like, so long the game's systems support that method. In Deus Ex, this design philosophy broke down when the boss fights were outsourced to another company. This is just a prerendered trailer, but I'm already wondering how the development team is attacking those issues in their new game.

Regardless, DXHR was more than the sum of its parts, and I fell in love with the artistic design and story-telling in game, despite the boss battles. I can't wait to see more of this new game, but how will you play Garrett when we get control of the Master Thief? Ghosting a level is gonna feel so good in the new duds.
