After what feels like months of secrecy, we are finally starting to get some idea of what to expect from the highly anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. While no official information on Respawn Entertainment’s latest title has been promised until April’s Star Wars Celebration event, one of the game’s writers has taken to Twitter to confirm that his work on the game is finished.
As reported by Game Informer, prolific video game RPG writer Chris Avellone was asked by a fan on Twitter which games he was currently working on other than Dying Light 2. Avellone responded that he couldn’t dive into too many details on his work due to the tight NDAs of the gaming industry but he did share that he had just finished up his work on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The writer also hinted at a big bomb of a release dropping next month, seemingly not related to the Star Wars shaped bomb dropping next month also.
While he did not reveal any actual details about the game, Avellone’s involvement in the writing serves as a good sign for the upcoming title. Players will know Avellone’s work from various RPGs including the Fallout series, specifically the acclaimed Fallout: New Vegas. In this case, however, his work on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 is the most notable in Avellone’s history and widely considered to be a peak in Star Wars video games for its nuanced writing and world building.
Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have been tight-lipped about its upcoming title, save for a few small details which have emerged over the past few months. What we do know is that the game will follow the story of a Jedi apprentice and their master who have escaped the events of the prequel film Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and are now fleeing from the newly formed Empire.
