Final Fantasy 12 60 FPS

Final Fantasy 12 60 FPS performance on Xbox One X beats all other consoles

The upcoming Xbox One X version of Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age enables 60 FPS performance. Previously, 60 FPS performance of the remake was only available on PC. Final Fantasy 12 was originally released on the PlayStation 2 in 2006 before an HD remake was released on the PlayStation 4 in 2017 and PC in 2018. The new port will be released on Xbox One X and Nintendo Switch.

Along with adding Final Fantasy 12 60 FPS performance, the ports of the HD remake will add a number of features which are included in the Nintendo Switch version as well. The port will let players modify party members’ jobs, add more gambit slots for party members, and allow players to change between party members using named descriptions. Along with the additional features in the regular game, a New Game+ mode lets players begin the story with characters at level 90. New Game+ also allows players to carry over possessions and abilities from their previous game.

While Final Fantasy 12 fans are finally getting Xbox One X and Nintendo Switch ports in 2019, fans of Final Fantasy 7 have decided to take a remake into their own hands. In 2018, the director of Square Enix’s ongoing Final Fantasy 7 remake, Tetsuya Nomura, said the game was delayed while the studio worked on Kingdom Hearts 3. In response, Final Fantasy 7 fans have turned to machine learning. A fan-made remake uses machine learning to enhance pre-rendered backgrounds which were not updated when Final Fantasy 7 was re-released previously.

Now that Kingdom Hearts 3 has been released, Tetsuya Nomura may have more time for the Final Fantasy 7 remake. Meanwhile, eagle-eyed fans discovered the director may have left an Easter egg in the recent Square Enix title. The reference suggests he wasn’t completely satisfied with Final Fantasy 15.

The upcoming ports of Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age are slated to be released on Xbox One X and Nintendo Switch on April 30.
