Disney Infinity Delayed To August

Disney's toy-centric video game has been delayed. The title was originally supposed to launch sometime in June, but Disney Infinity will now hit store shelves on August 18th.

According to Disney Interactive co-president John Pleasants, by way of the New York Times, a later release will prove to be best for the company in the end. "We could deliver in June if we wanted to," Pleasants explained. "Will a two-month timing change help us? Sure, of course. It gives us a little more time to add bells and whistles and make sure it really sings and pops."

It will be very interesting to see how Disney Infinity holds up against Activision's super popular Skylanders franchise. Is there room for two large-scale toy-based video game series? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
