Crytek Had “Crysis 3 Running On The Wii U,” But It “Had To Die”

Crysis 3 isn't coming to the Wii U, but not for lack of trying, as Crytek has confirmed that they were able to get the game running on Nintendo's console.

Speaking to VentureBeat, Crytek head Cervat Yerli explained, "We did have Crysis 3 running on the Wii U. We were very close to launching it. But there was a lack of business support between Nintendo and EA on that. Since we as a company couldn't launch on the Wii U ourselves – we don't have a publishing license – Crysis 3 on Wii U had to die."

With the Wii U off to such a rocky start, it's easy to see why publishers are hesitant to bring their games to the platform. Is the Wii U going to suffer from a lack of third-party support in the months and years to come? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
