Disney Infinity 4.0 footage

Disney Infinity 4.0 footage leak shows Star Wars and Marvel in Aladdin

It’s been almost two years since Disney canceled its toys-to-life videogame series Disney Infinity, citing “the lack of growth in the toys-to-life market, coupled with high development costs.” It also closed Avalanche Software, the developer of the series, and it looked like we wouldn’t ever see anything of the proposed fourth game in the series. Now, leaked Disney Infinity 4.0 footage has surfaced online, giving us a look at the game that might have been.

You can see the leaked footage of the game below, which was posted by P Tologist and spotted by Chaseyjoey on ResetEra. It shows pre-alpha footage of Disney Infinity 4.0, which was due to be subtitled “Kingdoms.” The test footage was meant to be for-internal-use-only in order to show off the team’s progress and what a level of Kingdoms would be like.

The level shows Agrabah, the world of the original animated Aladdin movie (not the upcoming Will Smith one), and is presumably at least one of the “Kingdoms” of the title. It sees Aladdin, Yoda from Star Wars, and Rocket Raccoon from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, teaming up to take on the sorceror Jafar, his palace guards, and eventually the droids of the Separatist army from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Detective Hopps from Zootopia and Marvel’s Spider-Man and The Hulk also make an appearance.

It’s rather notable that there aren’t actually any new Disney Infinity characters shown, as all featured already had toys in previous games. However, the level shown would’ve marked the first proper crossover with Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars characters in the game (outside of the Toy Box), since the level packs previously kept franchises separate. Disney Infinity 4.0 was planned to have new levels and toys based on Star Wars: Rogue One, The Last Jedi, Coco, Thor Ragnarok, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and more, but obviously these plans were canceled when the game was. For now, this is the only glimpse we may ever get of Disney Infinity 4.0: Kingdoms.
