CES 2019: RTX 2060 price and specs announced

The NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2060 price and specs have been announced at CES 2019. This brand-new card represents the next generation of budget gaming from NVIDIA and is set to be a step up from the GTX 1070 TI. If you’ve been struggling to get the best performance out of your card, you may soon be able to upgrade to something better without having to break the bank.

The RTX 2060 specs are pretty impressive. This upcoming card from NVIDIA features 1,920 CUDA cores, 240 Tensor cores, 30 RT cores, 6GB of GDDR6 memory at a 14 Gbps clock, and a GPU boost clock of 1.68 GHz. This hardware will let gamers cast 5 gigarays per second and allow them to take advantage of 52 teraflops of computing horsepower. But hey, you might not be a tech nerd so let’s put it into layman’s terms: the RTX 2060 price will get you a card that should be able to run pretty much any game in 1920 x 1080 at maxed out settings and with a stable 60 frames per second.

All of these lovely gadgets and doodads are pretty neat considering the RTX 2060 price: a cool $349.00 or your regional equivalent. This isn’t even the maximum limit of this new card—NVIDIA has been able to amp it up to 2 GHz via manual overclocking in their labs.

If you’re adventurous, you’ll be able to squeeze out even more power from an already powerful piece of hardware. (Of course, you’re entirely welcome to make use of overclocking software like MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision XOC, depending on which card you buy). Don’t forget that NVIDIA themselves also have a pretty robust software sweet that can let you do some pretty cool things with your shiny new toy!

The RTX 2060 (and its sister cards the RTX 2070 and RTX 2080) will be available in stores on January 15, 2019, in pre-built computers from Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and other leading computer manufacturers. Mobile versions of the card will be ready to go for the latest laptops coming to market. If you’re not keen on buying a brand-new PC, an exclusive founder’s edition will be up for sale on NVIDIA’s website on January 15 as well.
