Things aren't looking too up for the Big N and their brand-new tablet-centric gaming machine, as last month's sales in North America are extremely underwhelming.

According to Gamasutra, not only did the console fail to sell 100,000 units, apparently the numbers for January fall somewhere between 45,000 and 59,000 units. Now that is pretty poor. In fact, the outlet goes on to point out that if this truly is the case, the Wii U's sales last month in North America were actually lower than any month on record for both Sony and Microsoft's current-gen gaming boxes.

Let's hope that Nintendo really blows us away this year at E3 with some amazing new software, because right now, things aren't looking too hot.
