The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe Adds New Endings On Console

This is the story of a video game called The Stanley Parable. This first-person adventure tackles the nature of video games in a very meta way. First released on PC in 2013, the creators of the game have gone on to produce several other projects of equal quality and out there sensibilities. Now, the team at Crows Crows Crows and the original duo behind the game are bringing back The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe for one more go-around on consoles, most likely including Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

Players will follow the adventure line to new content, new endings, and even more depression than before. The story of Ultra Deluxe weaves new conversations in and out of what was there before. Nothing players remember from the original game will be jettisoned. While the developers do admit to a few tweaks here and there, the core of the experience is secure. The script for the update is roughly half the size of the original game, which means that this is quite a substantial update.

The update is so big that the developers consider this its own separate project. While The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe will launch on “whichever home video game console puts a smile in your heart”, it’s also coming to PC. There, the plan is to have it coexist with the original PC version. A smart move considering how fervent fans of the original game can be. They’re not sure the exact details on the PC launch as of now. So, we’ll have to wait for all the details.

We’ll also have to wait to open the door to office 427 once again. Even if the voices in your head call out to escape. Even if pressing the button over and over for years on end has driven you to madness. The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe makes its own time. It defies your Earthly needs and laughs at your petty wants. Just go play The Last of Us again while you wait. I hear it won a bunch of awards.
