Bandai Namco has confirmed that My Hero One’s Justice English dub will not be included in the upcoming game. This announcement comes only several days before the fighting game based on the popular My Hero Academia or Boku No Hero Academia will be released worldwide for regions outside of Japan. It is slated to release for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 26, 2018.
The Bandai Namco U.S. official Twitter account posted the news earlier today. The publisher/developer clarified that My Hero One’s Justice will only have its original Japanese voiceovers with subtitles in various languages, including English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. This confirmation arrives at the disappointment of gamers who have been hoping for a My Hero One’s Justice English dub.

Several gamers have voiced out their frustrations in the comments below the tweet, questioning why other Bandai Namco games like Dragon Ball FighterZ include English dubbing while My Hero One’s Justice does not. One possible reason might be that Dragon Ball is an older IP with an experienced and well-known voice cast, including Sean Schemmel’s Goku and Christopher Sabat’s Vegeta. In comparison, My Hero Academia is a relatively new IP despite its current massive popularity.
However, Bandai Namco has not given an official reason on why they have decided not to include a My Hero One’s Justice English dub. Gamers will have to settle for its original Japanese voiceovers, which would be much appreciated by fans of authentic Japanese dubbing. In other related news, there will be a total of 20 playable fighters in the game, comprising of fan-favorite heroes and villains from the manga and anime. This will be the first-ever video game adaptation of the My Hero Academia franchise. In the meantime, check out fan reactions to the game at the recent New York Comic Con 2018.
