Black Ops 4 sales continue to dominate amidst a sea of new releases, including major titles like Soul Calibur 6 and Lego DC Super-Villains. Call of Duty Black Ops 4‘s initial release week was lacking in competition from new releases, but it has proven itself by retaining its number one position in the UK games chart during its second week of release.

According to the latest Ukie Games Charts, Black Ops 4 sales has beaten a total of four new releases in the UK top 40 this week. Of these four new releases, Lego DC Super-Villains sales were surprisingly the best, allowing it to debut at sixth place. The remaining three include Soul Calibur 6, Dark Souls Remastered for the Nintendo Switch, and Starlink Battle for Atlas, which debuted at eighth, twelfth, and fourteenth place, respectively.

Meanwhile, the top ten in the UK games charts is still filled with relatively new releases from the past month or so. These include FIFA 19, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Spider-Man PS4, Forza Horizon 4, Super Mario Party, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy remains in the top ten as well, thanks to its popularity and the fact that it’s been available on almost every major console and platform since June 2018.

Despite these massive sales numbers, UK physical game sales have actually dwindled over 6.2 percent in 2018 to date. Sequels to major game franchises like FIFA, Call of Duty, and Assassin’s Creed have sold fewer units than their predecessors in the same time frame. This might be partially attributed to the increasing growth of digital game sales.

Activision and Treyarch must be celebrating the impressive ongoing Black Ops 4 sales worldwide. Last week, the publisher and developer revealed that Call of Duty Black Ops 4 has accumulated more than half a billion dollars, breaking several records for the franchise in the process. These include: most combined players, average hours per player, and the total number of hours played.
