Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War’s Season 4 update brings several new weapons to the table, including an all-new LMG. At this stage, the MG 82 is proving to be pretty OP by outclassing other light machine guns without any real drawbacks. As such, CoD: Warzone fans are already counting down to a potential MG 82 LMG nerf in a future update.
New LMG Warzone: Will there be an MG 82 nerf?
Many fans consider the new Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War LMG, the MG 82, to be OP. There’s no official comment on the weapon balance yet, though players could see a CoD: Warzone MG 82 LMG nerf in a future patch.
CoD: Warzone’s MG 82 light machine gun has the most rapid rate of fire for any LMG in-game. Despite that, it features low recoil and still boasts a large magazine size. These factors combine to make for an incredibly strong primary weapon choice — perhaps too strong, in fact. Some players think that the MG 82 is overpowered and in desperate need of nerfing.
Activision and the Warzone dev team are usually pretty proactive about fixing issues, especially around the launch of a new season due to the resulting influx of new and returning players. That said, it’s common to give new Call of Duty weapons breathing room to see how they settle into the meta before making any snap changes. It’s also common for weapons to be more powerful when they’re first introduced, mostly to encourage users to test them out.
Call of Duty Season 4 is also adding a new Black Ops Cold War Zombies map to the mix — here’s the latest on a release date. Less excitingly, the new patch is causing crash issues in CoD: Warzone on Xbox One and Series X|S. Fortunately, however, there’s a quick and easy fix.
