The Game Grumps’ celebrated dating simulator Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator brought a refreshingly grounded and inclusive take on the genre to fans of daddies and their corny jokes everywhere last summer. Now, the dad-filled neighborhood is bursting with enough new content to necessitate a move off of its PC home and onto the PlayStation 4 later this month. Dream Daddy: Dadrector’s Cut will launch on the PlayStation 4 on October 30.
According to the announcement post on the PlayStation Blog, the Dadrector’s Cut will deliver the full dating experience of the original game along with new sidequests, the ability to replay any minigame discovered throughout the course of your playthrough and a brand new minigame. While there are unfortunately no additional dads for players to get to know, developer Vernon Shaw did announce that content originally cut from the game will find its way back into the title within the PS4 release.
The move into the console market is one that Shaw greeted with a level of excitement expected of his group of YouTubers-turned-developers.
“This is the game’s first foray into the console world, and as a longtime PS4 owner I couldn’t be happier to see this game alongside titles like Bloodborne and Metal Gear Solid 5,” said Shaw.
While all the chatter is focused on Dream Daddy’s PS4 release, owners of the PC version of the game need not fret. Wednesday’s announcement also revealed that PC dad-daters will receive the Dadrector’s Cut’s additional content in a free update down the line. However, he did not give an exact release date or time period for this upcoming update.
Shaw hopes that the move to console will make Dream Daddy “the year’s most anticipated Dad-based game for the second year in a row.”
