Activision and Sledgehammer Games have officially announced the Call of Duty WW2 DLC 4 release date. The fourth DLC pack for the game, dubbed Shadow War, will add three new multiplayer maps, a new War Mode mission and the conclusion to the Nazi Zombies storyline originally introduced in the previous DLC pack, United Front. It will be launching first for the PS4 on August 28, 2018.
According to PlayStation Blog, the three new multiplayer maps added in the Call of Duty WW2 DLC 4 include Airship, Chancellery, and Excavation. The Airship map is set on a secret base in the Alps, where players can attempt to take control of the massive enemy blimp, while the Chancellery map will have players trying to conquer the enemy’s stronghold in the middle of the night. Last but not least, the Excavation map takes place in an Algerian mine, where players battle amidst piles of gold and priceless pieces of art.
Meanwhile, the new War Mode mission is Operation Arcane, where players will have to infiltrate an enemy research facility hidden in the Austrian mountains. It’s a secret base littered with UFOs, unique weapons that can be equipped like the Tesla Gun and even mysterious soldier serums pick-me-ups that grants players a sword and five times their normal amount of health.
Call of Duty WW2 DLC 4 Shadow War also includes Frozen Dawn, the final chapter to the game’s Nazi Zombies storyline. Sledgehammer Games Creative Director Cameron Dayton said that it will feature “some of the most powerful weapons in the history of wonder weapons,” which includes “an array of melee weapons that are going to completely transform gameplay.”
Interestingly, even those who don’t own the Call of Duty WW2 DLC 4 Shadow War will be able to gain access to the new multiplayer maps and War Mode mission. This can be accomplished by joining an in-game Party created by a season pass owner, who is also acting as the party leader. This will be valid for a period spanning two months, from August 28 to October 28, 2018.
