Konami Squashes MGS4 Xbox 360 Rumors… Again

Rumors regarding the existence of an Xbox 360 port of Metal Gear Solid 4 seemingly pop up every year, and 2012 is no different. New Zealand retailer Mighty Ape is to blame this time around, with an Xbox 360 listing for the recently announced 25th Anniversary Edition (via OXM).

Konami has since debunked the rumor, telling VG247 that the game is not coming out on the Xbox 360. The box art on the site was simply photoshopped by the retailer.

Am I the only one who wants Konami to bring the game to the Xbox 360? After all, the console already has the MGS HD Collection, so it would seem like a logical move. Sure, it may need to be put on a few discs, but at least we wouldn't have to deal with these rumors—and subsequent fanboy outcry—every year.
