God of War PS4 Sequel Potentially Teased by Game Director Cory Barlog

God of War has turned out to be a huge success for Sony Santa Monica, thanks to massive sales that broke records all over. It is now the fastest-selling PS4 exclusive ever, as well as experiencing the largest console exclusive digital launch of all time. It’s logical to assume that a sequel would be greenlit, although the developer hasn’t confirmed anything yet. However, the game’s director Cory Barlog recently tweeted something which could be potentially teasing a God of War PS4 sequel already being in development.

As reported by PushSquare, God of War director Cory Barlog recently tweeted that he felt like his brain “just ran a 10k in a thong speedo during a category 5 hurricane.” What could possibly make him feel this way? The answer is that he was fresh off a four-hour script notes discussion. Take a look at the original tweet below.

The big question here is what the discussion was about. It could be mere speculation at this point until we receive verification from Barlog himself. What other projects could currently be in early development at Sony Santa Monica, if not a God of War PS4 sequel. It would be exciting if it turns out to be true. If it seems like there’s no basis for this theory, there was a report last month which adds credibility to the possibility of a God of War PS4 sequel.

Sony Santa Monica posted a new job listing last month, searching for an “experienced Senior Character Concept artist.” The most intriguing part of the job listing is the description of its principal duties. It states that the employee will be required to work with “Art Directors and Leads to create high-quality characters, gods, creatures, and props.” Creating and designing “gods” is the most blatant clue pointing to a God of War PS4 sequel.
