Koei Tecmo has announced that Dead or Alive 6 will be playable at EVO 2018. The publisher also announced the Dead or Alive EVO Showdown and that registration for the event is now open. Those taking part in the tournament will receive some goodies.
Dead or Alive 6 will be playable at the Evolution Championship Series 2018 (EVO) for attendees. People will be able to play the latest build of Dead or Alive 6. People who play Dead or Alive 6 can also get an exclusive t-shirt. The playable demo will have several characters playable.
Koei Tecmo also announced that registration for the Dead or Alive EVO Showdown is now open. The game in the tournament is Dead or Alive 5: Last Round. Tournament entrants will receive limited edition tote bags and lanyards. Those interested in the tournament can look at the necessary details on Team Ninja’s website. Dead or Alive 5: Last Round was released in 2015. Since its release, the game has received a ton of cosmetic DLC. Earlier this year, Koei Temco said that there would be no more DLC for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.
Dead or Alive 6 was revealed at E3 2018 which surprised many people. The game was shown off to various media outlets behind closed doors. EVO 2018 will be the first time that Dead or Alive 6 is playable to the public. Several characters have been revealed such as Ryu Hayabusa, Helena, and Kasumi. The sixth installment is bringing several changes and improvements such as better facial animations and a special attack button. The special attack button is to help newcomers. The latest entry is toning down on the sexualization of characters. This move could help the game attract new fans and become more mainstream.
EVO 2018 runs from August 3 – 5. Given that Dead or Alive 6 is at the event, an announcement could be expected.
Dead or Alive 6 is scheduled to release early 2019 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
