Left 4 Dead developer Turtle Rock Studios has gone through rocky times in the past couple of years. Its most recent title, Evolve, turned out to be a somewhat unworthy follow-up to the company’s Left 4 Dead franchise, which remains popular as ever. Gamers have been clamoring for a proper Left 4 Dead 3 title, and it looks like that might become a reality. A job listing reveals that the developer is working on an unannounced title, which sounds suspiciously like it could be Left 4 Dead 3.
Left 4 Dead 3 Teased By Turtle Rock Studios: Unannounced AAA Competitive FPS
Turtle Rock Studios has listed quite a number of job openings on its official site here. One of those job listings caught our eye, specifically the one for a Senior Level Designer. According to the job description, the new unannounced title will be part of a “globally known game franchise.” It also states preferences for those with “experience working on competitive FPSs,” AAA FPS titles and “working with modern FPS engines,” like Unreal Engine 4.
No further information is currently available for Turtle Rock Studio’s new unannounced FPS game, which is expected since the game hasn’t even been officially announced yet. However, there are several interesting facts that can be gleaned from the job listings. It will probably be available on consoles and PC, which was the case for the two previous titles in the Left 4 Dead franchise as well. Both Left 2 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 were released on the PC and Xbox 360.
This is good news for the developer, as it bounces back from the failure of Evolve. It was revealed earlier this month that the multiplayer FPS title will be shutting down its servers permanently this September. This essentially means the death of Evolve, only three years after it originally launched in 2015. Speaking of the new unannounced title, it could also be the very same new FPS game Turtle Rock Studios announced back in 2016. However, that title was described as a new franchise, so it couldn’t have been Left 4 Dead 3.
