Death Stranding Story Details

Death Stranding Story Details Revealed by Sony YouTube Channel

Death Stranding is one of the most anticipated games for the PlayStation 4, with it being Hideo Kojima’s first since leaving Konami. But in spite of releasing several trailers for it, most of what the game is and is about is still shrouded in mystery, which par for the course when it comes to a game from Kojima. Although, the latest trailer for the game, which was shown at E3 2018, has given us somewhat concrete information on the game in the video’s YouTube description.

The description of the video reads:

“Besieged by death’s tide at every turn, Sam Bridges must brave a world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the stranded remnants of the future in his hands, Sam embarks on a journey to reunite the shattered world one step at a time. What is the mystery of the Death Stranding? What will Sam discover on the road ahead? A genre defining gameplay experience holds these answers and more.”

The video’s description confirms that aside from being the title of the game, it looks like the Death Stranding is a currently unknown phenomenon that is a major part of the game’s narrative. And if current speculation is true, it’s a phenomenon that has trapped the world in a state of limbo. The description further reveals that the game’s protagonist, Sam Bridges (played by Norman Reedus), may be the only one that can save the world.

The description also mentions Sam carrying “the stranded remnants of the future in his hands.” Whether that is referring to the fetus he’s been seen carrying in several of the game’s trailers or something else entirely is still unsure. As has been the case since the game’s first announcement, each bit of information that comes out just creates more questions than answers.

Death Stranding was originally announced at E3 2016 as a PS4 exclusive. No release date has been announced for the game as of yet. Aside from Norman Reedus, the game also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Lindsay Wagner, Emily O’Brien, and Troy Baker.
