World of Warships Legends Wargaming

World of Warships Legends Coming to PS4 and Xbox One in 2019

Wargaming has announced that its popular free-to-play naval MMO game World of Warships is finally releasing for the PS4 and Xbox One. Dubbed World of Warships Legends, it will be coming to consoles for the very first time since it was initially released for the PC back in September 2015. It is being developed by Wargaming St. Petersburg, which is the very same studio that worked on the original PC version.

According to the press release, World of Warships Legends will bring the immersive naval battles involving the most iconic warships from maritime history to the PS4 and Xbox One. The console version will receive exclusive content and features not available in the PC version. It will not simply be a port, as the developer will be creating a “native console experience from scratch while sourcing content and resources from the PC version.”

World of Warships Legends: Closed Alpha Stage Test

World of Warship Legends will be entering a closed alpha stage test and Wargaming St. Petersburg is currently accepting applications. All players have to do is to leave their email address on the official site and they will receive the next set of instructions soon. The alpha testing staged is set to run for at least two months or more, before moving on to closed and open beta sessions. To download the game, players will need about 30 GB of free space on either console.

The game is set to be released sometime in 2019, with more details and information to be revealed at the upcoming Gamescom 2018. World of Warships is not the first Wargaming game to receive console releases. World of Tanks was released on the Xbox 360 in 2014, followed by the Xbox One and PS4 in 2015 and 2016 respectively. However, there are currently no official plans for World of Warplanes to be released on other platforms besides the PC.
