E3 2018: Fortnite Switch Download is Now Live

It’s finally here. After all of the whispers and rumors, we have had it confirmed: Fortnite Switch not only exists, but a Fortnite Switch download is primed and ready to go on your consoles… now. That’s right, as revealed during the E3 2018 Nintendo Direct, you’ll be able to floss, dab, and whatever else you want to do on your Nintendo Switch console starting from today, June 12.

Packed with all the updates, including everything from shopping carts to the World Cup update, Fortnite Switch will be able to be played docked or handheld, for Fortnite on the go. You’ll be able to take the L on public transport. Yay?

Fortnite Switch is available from the Nintendo store at 10am PST/1pm EST/6pm EST. But if you’re looking to cross-play with your PS4 buddies, that won’t be possible as Sony have allegedly blocked any crossplay between the PS4 and Fortnite Switch versions. Boo! Hiss!

Despite that, this appears to be the ultimate version of the battle royale. It’s portable; filled with updates; and even online. It may have taken a while but Fortnite Switch has finally jumped onto the battle royale bandwagon. Sure, I was hoping for some Nintendo-related goodies, but there’s plenty of time for Ninty to add some of their trademark flourishes.
