Rage 2 Gameplay Trailer Is Insane, Release Date Set for Spring 2019

Just as Bethesda had promised, a Rage 2 gameplay trailer is now available to watch. The sequel is being made by a tag team of developers, with both id Software and Avalanche Studios contributing to the final product, which has a release date period of Spring 2019. Clearly there’s a big chunk of time before the game is ready for launch, and you should probably bear that in mind when watching the trailer, but still, give it a click below and see what you think!

Rage 2 Gameplay Trailer

Rage 2 is described as being a “first-person shooterverse,” launching players “headfirst into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order.” A big theme with Rage 2 is the freedom of the open world, with the promise of being able to “go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything.” With a trailer like that, it’s clear that this sequel is really looking to push the envelope with insane levels of action and destruction. It goes hard with the booms, even though it’s a whole year away from release.

The game is set during 2185, where humanity’s numbers are dwindling. There are a number of factions fighting for power. Players fill the shoes of Walker, who’s described as “the last Ranger of the wasteland.” Walker is out for revenge against “The Authority,” fighting his way through “bloodthirsty gangs to find the tools and tech needed.” He boasts unique “Nanotrite” abilities that allow him to perform slam attacks and energy pushes. He can also charge his weapons with these Nanotrites to make them much more powerful.

Bethesda will be revealing more Rage 2 gameplay during the E3 showcase on June 10 at 6:30 p.m. PT. This will be streamed over on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Bethesda.net.
