Star Trek Bridge Crew Gets the Enterprise-D in Newest Expansion

It’s been a while, but it’s hard to forget how Star Trek Bridge Crew was the first game that brought VR space exploration to its fans. However, space is pretty big, wouldn’t you agree? Exploring it in the same ship may get old fast, but that’s a worry of the past now that Ubisoft has added the Galaxy Class starship U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701D.

The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701D is known as Picard’s ship, a Startfleet officer that was played by Patrick Stewart in the Star Trek TV series. What’s more, you won’t only just earn Picard’s beloved space vessel, players will also obtain Star Trek: The Next Generation-era uniforms, Romulans, the Borg, their Cube ship, Data-like androids as well as new shield modulation and phaser mechanics.

But that’s not all. What also is included in the newest expansion are two brand new modes, called Patrol and Resistance. Patrol is where players will able to free-roam anywhere they want in the U.S.S. Aegis, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701, or the Enterprise-D. It may not sound like the most exciting gameplay to a newcomer, but Star Trek fans are sure to get a kick out of exploring the galaxy and its many splendors.

On the other hand, Resistance mode will give players a handful of objectives to complete while trying to avoid the ruthless Borg Cube. These cybernetic bucket-heads aren’t known for being particularly friendly either. If they are as dangerous as they appear in Star Trek: The Next Generation, then expect to be fighting for your lives when you come across them.

The Enterprise-D will also be receiving a new command role called Operations, which will focus on Crew Management. This allows the player to assign NPC teams in different locations around the ship to prepare for the variety of missions.

If you haven’t played Star Trek: Bridge Crew still, then be sure to check it and the newest expansion out as soon as possible.
