God of War Player Beats Game on Hardest Difficulty at Level 1

Are you some kind of God of War? That’s the first thought that ran through our minds when we discovered that famed challenge runner Faraaz Khan had completed the 15-hour campaign of God of War on the hardest difficulty, ‘Give Me God Of War’. All at the rank of level 1.

Khan did use new armor to boost Kratos’ stats, but Kratos was kept at level 1 for the entirety of the playthrough. Depending on who you are, you could either see Khan’s achievement as something not worth mentioning or, on the other side of the spectrum, something that deserves a round of applause. The hardest difficulty setting makes enemies a lot harder to kill, which in turn makes you easier to die.

Regardless of where you stand on the matter of Khan’s achievements, Khan completed the game on a difficulty that, essentially, could cause Kratos to be killed in just one single hit by nearly every enemy that you encounter. It forced Khan to weigh up his every decision because one wrong move could prove a fatal one. It’s no surprise it took him so long to complete the game, even if he is quite clearly a God himself when it comes to completing what seems the impossible.

You can check out the final sequences of Khan’s level 1 gameplay, however, we must warn you that this will include some spoilers for the end of the game.

It isn’t the first time that Khan has managed to prove people wrong about the capabilities of a difficult video game. He is, after all, well known for his challenge runs of the Dark Souls series, particularly his 4-hour ‘0 Hits Run’ of Dark Souls 3.  It’s a particularly fun video to watch, so we definitely recommend it if you’ve got the time.
