Ni No Kuni 2 Generated 60% More Revenue Than the Original Game In US

Yesterday’s NPD’s release was full of surprises, with Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony all having something positive to say about their sales on hardware. But what really came as a pleasant surprise was the news that Ni No Kuni 2 had generated 60% more revenue than the original game in the US, breaking a series record whilst exciting fans at the possibility of where the series could go from there.

This information was revealed by NPD’s Mat Piscatella, who took to Twitter to confirm that Ni No Kuni 2 had done extremely well, despite the information not being released officially. A fact that no doubt reassures some fans, especially considering the newest game was met with favorable reviews from critics, but had some players feeling as though it was a letdown. Take a look at Piscatella’s tweet below.

Looking at how Ni No Kuni 2 managed to beat Monster Hunter: World and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild back in March, the news of it generating 60% more revenue than the original leads to many questions. Most importantly, could that be enough to convince Level 5 and Bandai Namco that a third game would be a fantastic idea? It’s a possibility, and it may be a serious one to consider in the future.
